Inside Out
Poem by Ava De Grás
In a crowded room,
feeling all alone.
Struggling to connect,
in a world unknown.
But deep down inside,
there's a fire burning bright.
Yearning for connection,
to make everything right.
Inside out,
can't you see.
The silent cries,
the plea to be free.
In the depths of our souls,
emotions collide.
Longing for understanding,
on this emotional ride.
Words they stumble,
conversations hault.
Every interaction feels like a fault.
But underneath the surface,
there's a story to tell.
Aching for someone to break the shell.
Inside out,
in the silent screams.
Are dreams of connection and hopes in beams.
In the depths of our hearts,
the desire holds,
to be seen and heard,
as our true selves unfold.
Can't you see the pain,
hidden in the smile.
The longing for a friend,
even for a while.
But in the midst of it all,
there's strength to find.
To embrace vulnerability,
and leave no one behind.
Inside out,
in the quiet dispair.
Is a heart that yearns,
for someone to care.
Through the highs and lows,
we'll rise above.
Creating a world where
everyone feels loved.
Inside out,
beneath the disguise,
is a soul that sees
through your eyes.
Together we'll journey
hand in hand.
Creating connections,
that forever expand.
Hidden shadows,
beneath the neon glow.
Whispers lost in the
cities ebb and flow.
Aching for a touch,
in the cold of night.
Searching for a connection,
to make things right.
In a sea of faces,
lost in a crowd,
longing for a voice to speak out loud.
But deep within,
a flame starts to ignite
Burning with a passion,
ready to take flight.
In the midst of the chaos,
we find our way.
Through the trails and tribulations,
we will not stray.
With hearts unred,
we'll rise above embracing our strength spreading love.
Through the bustling streets where dreams collide.
A heart beats louder,
refusing to hide.
With every step taken,
a story unfolds.
Revealing the strength
that once was untold.
In the depths of solitude,
a phoenix rises.
Breaking free from chains,
no longer compromises.
Embracing the journey,
with courage and might.
A soul that's ready,
to embrace the light.
In the heart of the night,
under the stars soft light.
A phoenix spreads its wings,
ready for flight.
With a fiery spirit,
and a will so so strong,
it sings it's triumphant,
victory song.
So let the night sky witness,
the transformation within.
From a whisper to a roar,
let the journey begin.
No longer defined by the shadows cast,
But with the resilience found,
when facing the past.
Now we've journeyed
from the inside out.
No more whispers,
only shouts.
With hearts aflame,
in the moonlit night.
We've found our way,
we've taken flight.
From the inside out.
We've become anew,
stronger, braver,
and oh so true.
The phoenix song,
a triumphant shout.
This is what life's all about,
from the inside out.
Darcy
Poem by Ava De Grás
Trying to search for the clues in my mind's sham spot
Guess that's just the darcy in me
So stupid to wonder
Too clueless to even mind
Yet still confused as to why?
My face seems to cover the arts of this erasmus mindset
Pure rumination
So greek
Getting weird sensations
Must be the constellations aligning
Trying to form some kind of something
Crinkling shadows
Surrounding the perimeter that's within
Lurching in which it now lingers
Curious, speechless
Perhaps I'll just shut my own mouth
Got brains like an atom
Going strong now left devolving
Was thinking but now my thought just slipped away
Pacing like some kind of ghost
Sedated by all these delusions
Now pale as the ghost
Late nights normally work
But tonight is different
Hit, hurt, shoot me
All you want to
Nothing is going to save me
Don't got much F.R.I.E.N.D.S
Furious, Ridiculous, Innocent
pure Ethic
Nothing Doesn't Suprise me
Curious, speechless
Perhaps I'll just shut my own mouth
Got brains like an atom
Going strong now left devolving
Something doesn't feel right
Something feels off
Words are key to lyrics
Lyrics just get me nowhere nowadays
What am I even doing?
The darcy inside me is hiding something far more valuable
Transcending as I write down these words
Not something you and I would know anyway
Thought this was an act of character
Clearly not
Just an hallucinating moment in time
Our Everything
Poem by Ava De Grás
My heart is fuller when you are near
But my heart turns frozen when you're not close by
Your smile is the perfect glow
I could hold a starry eyed stare
Not a glare
But a loving stare
At you but for you
As time drifts on by
With you in my life
Without you,
I may as well just be nothing
Be gone with the wind
Oh but your smile is our everything
My happiness is your happiness
My smile and your smile
Is the glimmer of something only we both know
My heart is burning
Aflame that ignites
Only when you're right beside
Still The Star In My Heart
Poem by Ava De Grás
You're still in my heart, no matter how far we're apart from each other,
Shining bright like a star, you’re my guiding light,
Poignant my love
Even when we’re apart, you’re still the star in my heart,
Love lingers on, never truly gone
Just want to hold you tight
Never let you go
Never let go
Forever my love
Please stay for a little while longer
Wait for my love to grow stronger.
In my heart, you're still yearning in dreams that we can make real.
We're standing close, oh the air feels thick,
But our words, they seem to be caught in our throats,
Yeah, it's making us sick.
In this awkwardness, I can’t bear to look in your eyes,
Lord, this silence is burning heavy,
Now I’m wishing for courage, but I don’t feel ready.
But you, you’re ready.
Every time you make me smile,
I tend to shed a tear inside my bones
I keep having wicked dreams,
like what if we held each others hands?
Would that make you want me more?
Will you be, will you be my home,
You know I'm keeping you like an oath
Embracing your warmth is such a glow
I hope you don't go
Wrapped up, in love
See the stars glisten, all those constellations sticking together like a puzzle
Oh, I hope you stay
I said I hope you stay
Please stay for a little while longer
Wait for my love to grow stronger.
In my heart, you're still yearning in dreams that we can make real.
If you stay, I'll take your hand,
We’ll figure everything out together,
Even if we’re not in love.
As long as you’re by my side,
Everything will feel just right.
POSSESSED
Poem by Ava De Grás
The door bangs shut.
"There's somebody here?"
It may be the wind,
blowing through an open cracked
window.
What if it isn't?
What if,
BANG !!!
It's a...
There's no time to turn back,
there's no time to escape.
For I've seen it rush by,
I've heard her cry.
Seen her white cloak,
and her long black silky hair.
All those tears rolling down,
on her pale white face.
Maybe it's just me making this up.
Maybe she's right beside me,
as I curl myself up, hiding.
In hope she'll never find me.
As I hope,
I peak out to try and see if she's still
there.
Not a trace in sight,
she has vanished in plain sight.
Depression
Poem by Ava De Grás
I won't dissappear,
I'll just be hiding.
I won't be there,
I'll be right where I started.
You'll see stars,
and then you'll be crying for countless
of hours.
Wondering how will it end?
You'll see darkness,
then you'll see a little dim of light at the end of the long hall.
You will tell yourself that you, you're okay?
You'll be totally fine.
But you're not "fine".
No, really your not.
You'll be counting those stars,
every step of the way.
You will be crying your heart out,
even if you don't get anywhere.
At least you're trying and not dying.
You're simply just hurt,
you are deeply saddened,
still crying, though.
Although you're particularly vulnerable.
Then you stop crying,
for a little while.
All of a sudden,
you're back to square one:
It's called "depression".
Reality
Poem by Ava De Grás
You can't get everything all at once.
It takes time,
Where's the time?
I don't have a watch.
Where's the clock?
What is she at?
Pressure?
No pressure.
No problem,
oh, we have a problem.
Oh, boy, do we have a problem.
She's listening to music with
her headphones on.
Hoping she can relax,
fingers cross she doesn't cry, again.
She's listening to her favourite music.
Now, she's laughing,
she's so happy.
Or is she?
She's fading, fading away.
"Check her pulse?"
She doesn't have one,
she's gone.
We've lost her, again.
Isn't It Just
Poem by Ava De Grás
My brain isn't functioning,
as I walk through the gardens.
The weather is humid,
well it must be a good sign.
There are scenes like no other,
all's green and calm around.
Where there are views like no other,
the lake is still at last.
Not a breeze in sight,
almost got sunburnt.
Cause this is Ireland after all,
nothing ever lasts.
Birds singing so loud,
they may wake up the water monster.
Deers braking branches,
like they're trying to hide.
Don't be so shy,
as there's a cricket nearby.
You're too caught up
in nature's calling.
You settled of by the morning.
As night falls,
you won't be back till the next morning.
Isn't it just so stunning,
the sunset,
setting by the lake.
Isn't it romantic,
that it could be your first date.
